A look inside our workshop where staircases, doors and windows are made by hand for our clients' homes.

There is a particular satisfaction in joinery made by hand. In an age of mass production, a hand-crafted staircase, door or window carries a quality of workmanship that is immediately apparent and endures for generations.

In our workshop, timber is selected by eye, worked with traditional tools alongside modern precision, and finished to a standard that machine production simply cannot reach. Every joint is considered. Every moulding is matched to the character of the home it is destined for.

Bespoke joinery also solves problems that off-the-shelf products cannot. Period homes are rarely square or standard; openings vary, proportions are particular, and a stock item will always look like a compromise. Making each piece to measure means it fits perfectly and looks as though it was always meant to be there.

Staircases are perhaps the finest expression of the craft — a single object that is both structural and sculptural, and often the first thing a visitor sees. We take enormous pride in getting them right.

A well-made piece of joinery is not a fitting; it is a small inheritance, built to be used and admired long after we have gone.
